Description

Have loved watching Hayley on Instagram, found her so relatable as my brain is a fun anxious one too. Century's diverse non-fiction list includes Sunday Times bestseller Ross Kemp and autobiographies from major celebrities such as Rod Stewart, Peter Kay, Dawn French, James Corden, Eric Clapton and David Jason, and a broad range of exceptional non-fiction writing from authors such as Richard Bacon, Duncan Hamilton, and Christopher Sykes. But instead of responding individually to “deaf ears,” I realize that I can parody the bullies attempts by creating images and publishing them on the internet —the same vehicle used for their attacks—and the images would be seen by millions, and would live again, again, and again. See raamat on täis erinevaid piinlikku olukordi, millest paras osa jääb küll meile kahe kõrva vahele, samas nii mõnigi kipub ikka päriselu segama. Hayley Morris started her social media channels in January 2021 after finding herself bored during lockdown, and she instantly went viral.

Fazit: Für die meisten Overthinker ist hier was dabei, es ist allerdings auch nicht die Erleuchtung, die ich erwartet hatte – weder psychisch noch humoristisch. No igaljuhul see, kuidas elu lukkukeeramine tabas paljusid inimesi valusalt, on ka siin raamatus teravalt esindatud. Underneath Hayley’s quick humour is an important message of self-acceptance and I know her book will reassure readers as well as providing much-needed laughs. A criticism of the writing is the chapters could have had an age or more detailed introduction to the anecdote to help place the stories in context and help the reader relate to the stories and age Hayley was when the events happened. I found the first 20 minutes of the book very funny, but afterwards the novelty wore off and it got very tedious.

Zu allererst musste ich feststellen, dass Hayley scheinbar den extrovertierten Overthinkern angehört, die ständig feiern geht und neue Leute kennenlernt – eine mir bisher unbekannte Gruppe. Running through imaginary arguments whilst showering, hiding your knickers in the nurse's office before they look directly into your vagina or not knowing how to be a normal human when you have the plumber over.

Finding photos online, I recreated their images using wigs, clothing, and simple prosthetics, while small imperfections mirror the fallacy that the internet will shield their identities.

Overall, this is an enjoyable, amusing and relatable read that should be read by anyone entering their 20s and trying to navigate the world. Kokkuvõttes: mõnus raamat, mis on ladusalt loetav ning kergelt manustatav, samal ajal on ka tõsisemaid kohti. Kuna sarnasel puhul ühe teise juutuuberi raamat (Kristina Kuzmic "Hold On, But Don't Hold Still: Hope and Humor from My Seriously Flawed Life") oli väga lahe, siis mõtlesin, et proovin järgi. Insgesamt teilt sich so auch das ganze Buch ein: teilweise extrem relatable Kapitel, teilweise Kapitel, die mir nicht so zugesagt haben.
