I do not think it's dated, for the simple reason that I think it was quite brave to put out such a rose dominant juice in the early 70's, specially for men. is one of the best classic floral out there opens sharp rose with herbal classic mix of Aramis charm . Crisp and fresh, the Aramis 900 Eau de Cologne Spray is an addictive fragrance that will perfectly complement the modern gentleman.

The thing is, I always loved AE on others, and I think it smell absolutely wonderful on ladies, but never was bold enough to pull it on myself. I wouldn't mind wearing it but I can only see myself wearing it on a nice day out, at my job (i have to dress formally), or maybe at a gathering. A900’s basenotes, which definitely include a healthy dose of patchouli (as in AE) are modulated by vetiver.

Get hold of the old bottle if you can because I think it has been reformulated and now is not as strong. I wouldn't be surprised if Paloma got her inspiration for her namesake scent from this one, just amped up a lot more. I love Aramis and many of its masculine compositions from the past but I can only barely stand A900.

The overall notes seem similar (comparing after having a sniff of the old bottle) it just seems a bit fresher and more airy. The appeal is all to do with skin chemistry for me - which means my skin type, which is oily, I guess, and seems to eat up certain perfumes, reducing them to less than their parts, and do something to others that goes so far beyond how they smell to me on clothes or cardboard strips.But either the fragrance aged a bit a changed (which I think is really the case) or my sensitivity to patchouli changed. This was my signature scent in the late seventies and eighties; great cologne, always got compliments.
