Meetings
specialmomentThere are no hard and fast rules about the frequency of an Ascent meeting.
The minimum is once a month and maximum once a week.    It is better to meet in the daytime and in a parish room or hall, or even in someone’s home.  Religious are often happy to host the Ascent meeting in their convent or house.
It soon becomes clear that a particular person would make a good group leader and it will be up to them to guide and direct the group.   They will make sure that everyone feels at home, knowing they are listened to and understood.  It is in this atmosphere that the love of God and of each other will touch them.
Each group will work out its own format for the meeting, so long as the meeting embodies the three main elements of Spirituality, Mission and Friendship.
Above all it is essential that each member benefits from their meetings and leaves with a sense of joy and peace.
