It’s too soon for that to be revealed in book one, but again, the promise of Lis being a queen is smacking you in the face so not to worry. It was the way things always had been and always would be, no matter how many lowborn rebellions rose up.

The plot twist regarding him that came at the end I have to say I did predict but felt nice to read. Then again if this turns out to be another spin-off of the Blood And Ash books I'm also VERY down for it!I’m always willing to give authors second, third, and fourth chances, even if I haven’t *adored* what they’ve previously written. Regardless of the faults this book has (most of which I didn't see because I was so enamored with Thorn) I will be anxiously awaiting the next book.

He senses (and sees) the FMC being abused, but he is very hungry, so he let's everything happen, and patiently waits for his turn. I might give the second book a try, because I do believe that there is potential in this series, and I am curious to see where this is going, but I am not sure yet. This pleasure may be from anything a mortal finds pleasing, but it also often involves sensual acts.

I liked the idea of the Hyhborn, (the immortals made from the earth who are very powerful) and the Lowborn (the mortals who are born) and the differences between them.
