Hasbro even blesses us with a rare pair of alternate hands for a BAF, giving the choice to pose Age of Apocalypse Colossus with fists for bashing or Zangief-like grappling hands. The good news, for me anyway, that anything that comes after this is just icing on the plastic cake because this is figure of Colossus I have always wanted. I didn’t have the vision or dexterity to attach this piece myself, but my wife popped it in quickly despite worrying it might break since the tassels are so petite.

On the whole, this has been a really solid assortment of well-executed characters, and I’m looking forward to checking out the last two next week with Shadowcat and the Colossus Build-A-Figure! Despite some issues, I really do like this figure, especially since I was sorry to see him omitted from the first wave. Nothing on this one is too egregious, but the belt has some slop lines in the gold, and there is a smack of silver right on the left cheek of Colossus’s brightly clad ass, so it can be noticeable. Some readers were upset by the drubbing I gave poor Age of Apocalypse Cyclops in his review, so I figured I’d jump from reviewing the worst figure in Marvel Legends AOA wave 2 to the best.Since we’ve seen this body many times, there are no real surprises when it comes to articulation, so I won’t run through it all. Also, believe the head is carried over from the Warlock Series figure, too, but with an obviously new paint deco.

The plastic coif is pretty magnificent too, and his braids are soft and bendy enough so as not to impede articulation too badly. The biggest improvement though is in the helmet, both in its lack of pock marks, as well as the shape. The first assortment had some heavy hitters and the amazing Sugar Man Build-A-Figure, so it’s going to be a tough act to follow.

I mean, I was already behind, and then I had three new waves arrive and I just keep getting in deeper and deeper! It goes without saying, that I was a huge fan of the first Age of Apocalypse wave, and I was surprised to see Hasbro serve up a second so quickly. Really though, it is not much as far as I can tell, it is mostly the arms and hands, which is perfectly appropriate. Both the Colossus and Juggernaut figures come with 2 alternate hands, allowing fans to create dynamic poses and imagine the Super Heroes battling one another or teaming up to defeat a common enemy. This set is hitting now, so I would definitely recommend picking it up as soon as you see it, it’s the goods! You get some minor paint changes to the boots and gauntlets, his undies are now left red, and the addition of some shoulder pads, but that’s about it from the neck down. He's so good I've bought a number of other 80th anniversary figures like Thor, Iron Man and the Walmart Captain America. Yes, the Thing is my all-time favorite Marvel character (and one of my favorite overall fictional characters), but Colossus (and Kitty) has been my X-Man numero uno for as far back as I can remember. The hands are not a huge deal to me because I need my Juggs to have fists, but it is still a nice inclusion, however, getting this new head is awesome and it looks GREAT!

With premium deco inspired by the iconic X-Men comic issue in which Colossus and Juggernaut first clash, these figures make a great gift for fans of Marvel Entertainment.Actually, even if you are not native to Russia, you don’t have to expatriate there just for your toys to own you – you just have to be a Marvel Legends collector.
