Alana's personality is only being a mom to Cami and being emotionally abusive throughout the series to Cal. It’s no secret throughout the series that Cal is an addict – he’s a functioning alcoholic who has also leaned on pills in the past. I enjoyed reading about his relationship with his brothers, their other half's, particularly his friendship with Iris and Declan's continuing character development. We also use them to help detect unauthorized access or activity that violate our terms of service, as well as to analyze site traffic and performance for our own site improvement efforts.

Final Offer did start off on a high so high that I giggled because I assumed this was going to be my book of the year. they felt crammed to the brim with tropes, not really knowing what they wanted to be— insta-lust or slowburn, enemies to lovers or not.Their relationship ended badly though after Lana found out about Cal's addiction to painkillers and alcohol.

Two bland characters getting together then breaking up then getting back together and then breaking up and getting back together. Lauren Asher gave us this neat, tidy, and satisfying ending, which is all you really want when it comes to the end of a series like this, right? To receive my inheritance, I was tasked with spending a summer at the family lake house before selling it. Cami swindling Cal out of thousand and thousand dollars for swearing was truly the highligh of the book for me. No, it is not, if it was something as easy as a choice, there would be no addicts, that is the point of addiction, it is not something you can control and, in the vast majority of cases, it is stronger than you.Once Cal was willing to change and be held accountable for his behavior it made all the difference in this second chance romance for me.
