Alana's personality is only being a mom to Cami and being emotionally abusive throughout the series to Cal. It’s no secret throughout the series that Cal is an addict – he’s a functioning alcoholic who has also leaned on pills in the past. I enjoyed reading about his relationship with his brothers, their other half's, particularly his friendship with Iris and Declan's continuing character development. We also use them to help detect unauthorized access or activity that violate our terms of service, as well as to analyze site traffic and performance for our own site improvement efforts.

I just wanted to note something personal here; As a Latina, I thought the Latin representation in this book is done exceptionally well! As Goodreads reviewer, Nilufer Ozmekik, put it: "This book effectively blends betrayal, longing, lies, secrets, anxiety issues, and grief with well-developed character and truly well-written angsty tear-jerker! Added to this is that I didn't feel any kind of connection between Cal and Alana, their discussions were dull, the spice was cringey and not at all hot, I don't know, everything is wrong with this book, really. The plot as a whole did nothing, in comparison to the previous books in the series, Final Offer has nothing to offer. She’s an amazing person, who's willing to sacrifice herself to see the people she loves happy, especially when it comes to her daughter, Cami—who honestly, is a highlight and the star of the book. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). And through all of this it was sad to see cami (Lana’s daughter) was kinda stuck in the middle of everything. But he doesn’t plan on working on himself so I don’t blame them since they saw how his leaving hurt Lana. But how she eventually 'overcomes' it isn't really discussed, and as someone who grew up with immediate family members who were addicts, it would take more than a few months to trust again fully.

Final Offer did start off on a high so high that I giggled because I assumed this was going to be my book of the year. they felt crammed to the brim with tropes, not really knowing what they wanted to be— insta-lust or slowburn, enemies to lovers or not.Their relationship ended badly though after Lana found out about Cal's addiction to painkillers and alcohol.

Two bland characters getting together then breaking up then getting back together and then breaking up and getting back together. Lauren Asher gave us this neat, tidy, and satisfying ending, which is all you really want when it comes to the end of a series like this, right? To receive my inheritance, I was tasked with spending a summer at the family lake house before selling it. Cami swindling Cal out of thousand and thousand dollars for swearing was truly the highligh of the book for me. No, it is not, if it was something as easy as a choice, there would be no addicts, that is the point of addiction, it is not something you can control and, in the vast majority of cases, it is stronger than you.Once Cal was willing to change and be held accountable for his behavior it made all the difference in this second chance romance for me.
