TomTom’s voice commands have always been a little hit and miss for me, and that hasn’t changed with the Go Discover. Simple things such as “Turn the volume up” or “What’s the next instruction?” seem to work fine, but others like “Go to a city centre” or “Go to a petrol station” sometimes took three or four goes to get recognised, and the latter didn’t even pull up any nearby petrol stations even though I could find them through a normal search on the map, complete with current fuel prices. TomTom GO Expert 6-inch provides clear alerts in real time for restrictions that might impact your vehicle, such as low emission zones, bridge heights, ADR tunnels and toll locations. Easily adapt your route to avoid restrictions that affect you. See restrictions even when you have no active route planned, so you always know what's up ahead. The TomTom GO Expert 6-inch also features moving lane guidance. This feature is designed for high-speed lane changes with clear moving lane guidance. Get in the right lane with enough time ahead of motorway exits and complex motorway junctions. Design-wise it looks identical to that of the TomTom Go Discover that they have also recently announced. The Go Expert comes with a similar spec: it comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage as well as dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The 7in has a great screen, clear sound and a simple but effective UI. It’s speedy and responsive, and both the voice instructions and the visual maps are nice and clear. It focuses on making a great job of the basics and piling useful services on top, which, to my mind, makes it a better option than TomTom’s old flagship satnav, the Sat Nav Go Premium. The 7-inch touchscreen offers a great HD display and the size of the screen allows you to see the screen anywhere it’s positioned either on the windscreen or dashboard. The Go Expert also has a powerful speaker so you won’t miss an instruction. I found the instructions paired with the maps to be very clear and does its job very well. I also found features such as moving lane guidance useful for larger vehicles making this a very useful tool for long-distance drivers. style>
