I often think of Pulp as being ‘outside’ of Britpop, as the music seemed so much smarter and a bit too cool in its own way for such a scene. Thinking about it, and I guess one has to class Different Class as Britpop. Before coming to an article that argue Different Class helped define the scene, I want to quote from Pitchfork’s review of Different Class from 2016:

Guitar [Gibson Es 345, Gibson Les Paul, Gibson Firebird], Acoustic Guitar [Sigma], Keyboards [Casio Tonebank Ct-470], Electric Piano [Fender Rhodes], Synthesizer [Roland Juno 6] – Mark Webber Additionally, you can opt out of some of these services by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out portal at: http://optout.aboutads.info/.

The vinyl has light scratches from the foil sleeve, I have seen several copies like this. It does play well on my set up, though. No skips, pops, or major jumps. Some noise in between the quiet passages. Sleeve has some bends but overall is in great shape . Contains all 6 inner sleeves but no post card. Overall a respectable copy of one of the greatest records ever made! Guitar [Gibson ES 345 Guitar], Guitar [Gibson Les Paul Guitar], Guitar [Gibson Firebird Guitar], Acoustic Guitar [Sigma Acoustic Guitar], Keyboards [Casio Tonebank CT-470], Electric Piano [Fender Rhodes Piano], Synthesizer [Roland Juno 6] – Mark Webber Organ [Farfisa Compact Professional II], Keyboards [Ensoniq Asr 10, Korg Trident II], Synthesizer [Minimoog, Roland Juno 6, Roland Sh-09], Electric Piano [Fender Rhodes] – Candida Doyle I absolutely love this candle, it smells gorgeous and made the last week of my thesis writing much more bearable. This draw is conducted in a secure enivironment selecting an identifier which can not be used to access your account and the data is deleted as soon as the draw has been conducted. This original pressing has razor sharp artwork (photos and typework) compared to the latest reissues (2011 - 2016). A brilliant album and one that not only captured Pulp at their absolute peak but is also one of the most important recordings ever submitted to wax in British music history. The seediness, the wink and nudge as well as the many references to taste, society and above all class make this album an essential social document of sorts and as a consequence it could be argued that their legacy is every bit as important in defining Englishness as are groups like Fairport Convention, Pentangle et al. Hi - these coasters are great. Just like the description (maybe the dimensions could be provided, but I don't think it's an issue). It's a different way of honouring a favourite band and I'm very pleased with them. If you have not experienced Different Class, then I think it is a good investment on vinyl - and it is one of those albums that you will return to time and time again. For those of us who were around in 1995, I think this Pulp masterpiece really changed the game and provided so much pleasure. It was an album that I was very attached to, and my respect for Sheffield’s Pulp raised significantly! An article in COMPLEX from 2015 discusses the importance of Different Class in the Britpop movement: It's a really good sounding disc, I don't know who did the mastering or where it was pressed, but it is miles better than the MPO pressing (as lots of comments say about the 2016 pressing). I think that the MOV and Simply Vinyl pressings are better than this. The artwork is really good, the photo has some blur to it, but is not that bad
