Description

On the lower models in this range there is no digital display so you will get a binary code using the built in LEDs or neon lights that give indications and options. These can vary from model to model but the fault or error code will be displayed as a series of flashes, simply count the number of flashes between the pause and that relates to the error codes below. For exsample, one flash is E1, 3 flashes is E3 and so on. It’s worth mentioning that if the thermostat has tripped and is able to be reset, it indicates another problem such as bad airflow. When you throw your clothes into the dryer, you expect them to come out dry and warm. But what heats up the dryer drum itself? This post will describe where you can find the reset button of different models of Candy clothes dryers and what to do if a reset doesn’t work. Always be sure to unplug the power cord before starting. Candy Grand O’Vita Tumble Dryer Reset Button Location

Washer-dryers can both bring you convenience and save you precious space, which can be especially vital if you live in a small house or apartment. You must understand certain things before you begin or attempt any repairs on your own and we want to make these points very, very clear to anyone that decides to investigate one of these or any other tumble dryers:

If you have a vented dryer, then your dryer relies on airflow to remove moisture and heat from the dryer drum. If moisture can’t escape the drum, it’ll keep your clothes wet; and if heat can’t escape, your dryer may overheat. Sensor Dry - The machine will automatically stop the cycle when it detects that the load is dry. This avoids the cycle continuing until the timer ends, saving time, energy and money But every appliance encounters problems from time to time. One common complaint for any dryer—including the Candy brand—is that of over- and underheating, for which a reset might do some good. But where exactly is the reset button?

These fault codes are written for washing machine repairers and not for the general public by Candyand UK Whitegoods, they assume a certain level of competence on the part of the user in diagnostic routines. We have added some notes to try to assist you in determining the nature of the fault you have but, you will still need to investigate each failure on its own merits. For more help and advice on fault finding on a tumble dryer please refer to our basic fault finding guide from this link before you begin. Remove the condenser unit and clean out any lint that’s trapped inside – You can use a high pressure washer for the best results In the washer-dryer model, you may actually find two reset buttons. They’ll be located on the two side-by-side thermostats on top of the heating assembly box. Press both buttons to reset the appliance’s heating settings. Please also note that manufacturers can and do change fault codes without notice and we cannot guarantee that these error codes will apply to your particular Candy tumble dryermodel as all codes apply to a wide range of appliances and not normally any one specific model. Applies To Candy Tumble Dryer Models We are not responsible for your safety, you are and by using this guide you accept that and accept that any damage that you may cause and work undertaken is entirely at your own risk. This means that the control board is struggling to carry out that particular drying cycle due to a hardware error on the control board. Control boards for Candy tumble dryers can sometimes be very expensive which means it’s worth looking into replacing the dryer if the cost is too high. Try replacing the heating element If you find a faulty thermostat, then you can match up the correct spare part with a spare parts retailer by using the model number of your dryer. Clean out the condenser unit The condenser unit is located at the bottom of the tumble dryer and can be removed by pushing the latches up or down depending on the model. It’s also a concern for safety if the lint filter overflows as it can cause a fire if the machine doesn’t cope with the excess lint. The fluff can make it through to the heating element at the rear which then burns it out. Inspect the control board and wiring

This fault should automatically reset itself but if it does not then the thermal cut out is likely to be faulty. When you remove the heating element cover you would see signs of this as the water will be at the bottom of the cover when you take it off. Summary The answer to that question is the heating element. The heating element uses metal coils that touch the dryer drum just enough to heat it up but not to overheat it. These error codes do not relate to ALL Candy tumble dryers. If you are unsure please ask in the forums as well as for all other Candytumble dryer fault codes. This is where the moisture is removed from the air and turned into water that then gets pumped into the water tank.Candy dryers should come with a resettable thermostat. Resetting this thermostat is as simple as finding the heating assembly box, on top of which you’ll find the thermostats. You should then inspect each of the cables that go from the control board down to the thermostats and the heating element. Make sure that there are no breaks or kinks in the wires. Unfortunately, a thermostat reset will only work if the source of your heating problem is the thermostat itself. But there may be other causes contributing to your dryer under- or overheating that have nothing to do with the thermostat.

Inspect the control board for any signs of a short circuit and make sure that the wiring is not faulty Thanks to the Start Delay function you can delay the start of the drying cycle up to 24 hours. Postpone it during the night to save energy costs or program it at your convenience.

It’s a standard condenser design, so it uses more electricity than pricier heat pump models – it has a B Energy Rating Once you have cleaned out the condenser you should make sure that the thermostats have been reset and then test the machine. Keep the lint filter clear We are not responsible for you buying spares that do not resolve the problem, this is down to your own diagnosis not ours. The Fault codes above may apply to some or all of the following tumble dryer models from Candy and could apply to other models that use the same electronics and/or software.
