As an historical re-enacter I’ve learned some interesting medieval weaves, and alternate them with hand towels and cloth for handbags and jackets. Many times I’ve rediscovered my love for a particular craft years after I thought I was done with it.

I am a beginner and would love to extend my techniques to make family and friends beautiful pieces for their tables and their home. As a machine knitter who is now delving headlong into rigid heddle weaving I am drawn to overshot because it looks so similar to the slipped stitch patterns that are done on the knitting machine.

There are so many beautiful yarns on the market it is lovely to have a whole range of different techniques in our toolboxes to use them to best effect.

Some members of knitting groups I am in have taken up weaving, and I was impressed by their beginner efforts on RH looms. am fron the Netherlands and here is a rigid heddle loom less interesting for a lot of weavers than weaving with shafts.

This technique looks like it’s in-keeping with my usual personality quirk but I also won’t end up drowning! I started a deep dive into finding out as much as I could about it and came up sorely short of any more real instruction. I love fairisle type patterns and Krogbragd so these beautiful Crazy shot patterns are exactly what I’m looking for.
