The Ascent Movement

ASCENT - a Movement of the Catholic Church for men and women in their middle and later years. Groups usually meet in parishes to support each other through three core values

SPIRITUALITY, FRIENDSHIP and MISSION. These values invite members
to deepen the awareness of God in their lives
to create and enjoy close and lasting friendships with people of like mind
to share their wisdom with and their concern for all those in need both home and abroad.

Christians of all denominations are welcome.

Spirituality is the call to every Ascent member to deepen their own spiritual life, to find what God is asking of them, now that they have more time.

Mission means that in collaboration we share our faith in whatever way we can, drawing on the wisdom of our past experiences.
Ascent is introduced into Hallam Diocese

Friendship links us all together. We share the joys, problems and anxieties of our lives in prayerful understanding with like-minded people in a loving manner.
